Don Glenn has announced his candidacy for 2006-07 NE-IA District Treasurer. The Kiwanis Club of Bellevue, of which Don is a member, proudly endorses and supports him for this office.
Don has been a Kiwanian for 27 years, having joined Kiwanis in the Ruston (LA) Sunrise Kiwanis Club in the Louisiana-Mississippi-West Tennessee district. He served as the club treasurer there before moving to Bellevue, Nebraska. In the Bellevue Kiwanis Club, Don has served as President, Treasurer and Board Member and has chaired numerous committees. In Division 20 which also has endorsed his candidacy, Don has served as Distinguished Lt. Governor and Young Children: Priority One Chair. Within the Nebraska-Iowa District, Don is the current District Foundation Secretary-Treasurer, a position he has held for the past eight years. He also maintains the District’s website. He has served as district chair of the Laws and Regulations, Youth Services, and Children’s Miracle Network committees. He worked on several committees for District Conventions, Midyear Conferences and International Presidents’ Visits. Don organized the South Sarpy County Kiwanis Club and served as a Board Member for that club. He is a Certified Kiwanis Trainer, a Hixson Fellow and a Bartlett Fellow. Don is also an active member of the VFW Post 10785 in Bellevue.
Originally from Maryland, Don served 20 years on active duty with the U.S. Air Force. He retired from the Air Force in 1986 and recently retired from Methodist Health System in Omaha, Nebraska where he was an Information Technology Director. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Geography from the University of Maryland and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of North Dakota.
Don and his wife, Linda, live in Bellevue, NE. They have two children and six grandchildren (and one more on the way).
