Hello to all in some sort of Key Club capacity,

In this message I am attempting to list the Nebraska-Iowa District Key Club events.

HOLIDAY SOCIAL will be Saturday November 17 & Sunday November 18, 2007
   Location - Comfort Inn & Suites, 7007 grover Street, Omaha, NE
   Times - begin Saturday at 2:00 PM (but not set in stone yet) and ending Sunday by 11:00 AM.
   Cost - again it will be $50.00, which will include Saturday evening food, Sunday AM food & lodging (quad rooms for students)
   Registration - the materials will be out in a few weeks.

DISTRICT CONVENTION will be March 27 - 29, 2008

Location - West Des Moines Marriott, 1250 Jordan Creek Parkway, West Des Moines.
   Times - check in should be on Friday beginning around 5:00 PM followed by activities all weekend to wrap up before noon on Sunday.
   Cost - will again be $150.00 to include meals and lodging for 2 nights.
   Registration - the materials should be out in late January.

INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION
   Location - Denver, Colorado
   Date - We will depart on either July 8 or 9 and return home on the 15th or 16th of July, 2008.
   Cost - Yet to be determined. Transportation is not arranged, but I expect to use a bus with several pick-up locations. A post-convention tour is being planned to include the Rockies and more.

KIDS AGAINST HUNGER of Feeding Children International. Briefly, this is where we package food for underprivilaged in Africa. We did this last year at District Convention. It was so successful that it is planned to repeat the activity at both Holiday Social & District Convention. I will devote a message later on to explain this service activity more fully.

One last item. You may have heard of the Kiwanis sponsored Key Leader events. Key Leader is for any high school student and is not exclusively for Key Club members. It is not a District Key Club event, but Key Club members may attend. Kiwanis Clubs (and not Key Clubs) are to be sending high school students to a Key Leader weekend.

The next scheduled Key Leader weekend is planned for Novelmber 2 - 4, 2007 in Gretna, Nebraska. This is two weeks before the Key Club sponsored Holiday Social to be held in Omaha. Both are good events, but if a choice must be made, please choose the Key Club sponsored activity. It tends to defeat Key Club if Key Club members attend Key Leader, but not Holiday Social.
