CAMP OLYMPIA KIWANIS (OK)

Camp OK is a camp for deserving fifth and sixth grade children who would not otherwise be able to attend camp. It is sponsored by the Nebraska-Iowa Kiwanis District Foundation through club sponsorship of children and by funded campers. Camps are held in Iowa and Nebraska each summer.

The club sponsorship of a camper is $300 per camper. Each club sponsoring a camper can select the camper upon recommendation from the camper's teacher.

Any club can place $3,000 into the Camp OK Endowment Fund.  This can be done at once or in up to four installments.  Once the total amount is contributed, the campership is considered fully funded and the club can send a child to camp without further funds.  If $2,250 has been paid, the campership costs $75 per year, if $1,500, then the cost is $150 per year, and if $750 has been paid, then the campership cost is $225.

From Interstate 80 East or West, exit on Exit 432, Gretna. It is the Nebraska Crossing Exit. Go south on Highway 31 toward Ak-Sar-Ben Aquarium. The road will go down a hill and take a sharp bend to the left. The Eastern Nebraska 4-H Center is on the left. Turn up the paved road and follow it to the camp. (If you get to the Aquarium, you have gone too far. Turn around and take the first road on your right.)
